Question (Q-42)
Please explain the order of recitation of the Holy Qur’ān within Salāh. Is it permissible to recite from the tenth Juz of the Holy Qur’ān in the first Rak’ah and to then recite from the second Juz in the second Rak’ah?

Answer:
To recite the Verses of the Holy Qur’ān in reverse order is severely disliked (Makrūh At Tahrīmī). (Durr ul Mukhtār, Chapter about Qirā’ah – Recitation) Severe warnings have been mentioned in relation to this.

Sayyidunā ‘AbdUllah Ibn Mas’ūd (رضى الله عنه) says, “Does the one who recites the Holy Qur’ān in the reverse order not fear that Allah (تعالى) will turn his heart upside down?”

It is necessary (Wājib) to recite the Holy Qur’ān in the correct sequence regardless of whether it is recited in Salāh or outside of Salāh. (Al Fatāwā Ar Ridhwiyyah, Volume 6, Page 239)
