Question (Q-41)
If someone does not perform the first four Sunnah Mu’akkadah Rak’āt (emphasised Sunnah units) prior to Jumu’ah Salāh due to a valid reason, then is it necessary to perform them after the Fardh Rak’āt of Jumu’ah Salāh or not?

Answer:
If a person does not perform the four Sunnah Muakkadah Rak’āt (units) prior to the Fardh of Jumu’ah then he should perform them after he has performed the Fardh Rak’āt. It is stated in Al Fatāwā Al Hindiyyah,

“The majority of Scholars state that the person who misses the four Rak’āt that are performed prior to Dhuhr by joining Congregational Salāh behind the Imām without performing them, should make up for them after completing the Fardh of Dhuhr. This is so long as it is still Dhuhr time. This is correct as is stated in Al Muhīt.”
